What You’ll Be Doing

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Lead Systems Engineer to support the design, integration, and management of complex mission systems across their full lifecycle—from concept development and architecture through integration, testing, deployment, operations, sustainment, and decommissioning.

In this role, you will define system concepts of operation, requirements, and architectural approaches while guiding engineering teams through system design, integration, and verification. You will collaborate closely with stakeholders, product teams, and partner organizations to ensure solutions meet mission and technical requirements.

What you’ll be doing:

• Lead and contribute to systems engineering activities across the full system lifecycle, including concept development, architecture design, development, testing, production, deployment, operations, maintenance, and decommissioning.
• Define and document Concepts of Operations (CONOPS), operational and system requirements, and use cases to support system development and mission objectives.
• Perform high-level system design and architecture development, including defining system components, interfaces, and performance requirements.
• Develop and maintain system architecture artifacts, models, diagrams, and technical specifications to guide system design and integration.
• Specify system and component performance requirements, interface definitions, and integration requirements to ensure interoperability across subsystems.
• Lead or support trade studies, risk assessments, and technical analyses to evaluate design alternatives and determine optimal system solutions.
• Develop and support installation, integration, and acceptance test plans, and participate in system integration, verification, and validation activities.

• Experience with system architecture modeling tools such as Cameo Systems Modeler, MagicDraw, or Sparx Enterprise Architect.
• Familiarity with cloud, networking, and security architectures within complex enterprise or mission environments.
• Hands-on experience supporting system integration and testing of complex systems.
• Experience working with system interfaces, data models, and interface documentation (e.g., ICDs). Knowledge of configuration management practices and system lifecycle documentation.
• Familiarity with DoD or Intelligence Community architecture frameworks or engineering processes.
• Ability to balance technical depth with program-level objectives and mission priorities.
• A proactive, detail-oriented mindset with strong organizational and leadership skills.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Systems Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field (Master’s degree preferred).
• 10+ years of systems engineering experience, including experience supporting system architecture, requirements development, system design, integration, and verification.
